Guided Meditation for PTSD, Conversion Disorder and Healing

PTSD is a disorder that develops in some people who have experienced a shocking, scary, or dangerous event.  The event could be combat, a surgery, an accident, rape, domestic violence, living in a violent neighborhood, hurricane, fire, flood—anything traumatic.

It is natural to feel afraid during and after a traumatic situation. Fear triggers many split-second changes in the body to help defend against danger or to avoid it. This “fight-or-flight” response is a typical reaction meant to protect a person from harm. Most people recover from initial symptoms naturally.

Those who continue to experience problems may be diagnosed with PTSD. People who have PTSD may feel stressed or frightened even when they are not in danger.  This can often adversely affect themselves, their family and/or their work.

                                                                       

PTSD symptoms include:

  • Re-living the traumatic experience (flashbacks)
  • Excessive emotions – jumpy, irritable, difficulty sleeping, anger outbursts, unhealthy habits
  • Avoidance of anything or anyone that reminds you of the traumatic event
  • Negative beliefs and feelings.  Guilt and shame

Some folks think this Meditation is too short.  Repeat the Meditation if you'd like.  Listen everyday for even more benefits. It's very powerful and will help you to heal.

My personal experience with this Meditation was very strong.  I cried for a while, relaxed and was able to resolve some pressing issues going on in my life.  Your experience will be very individual.  Don't expect anything….just listen and allow yourself to heal.
